UNESCO Workshop for Capacity-building on Periodic Reporting under the 2003 Convention for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage to be Held in Republic of Korea

 
Aworkshop for enhancing capacity for periodic reporting under the UNESCO Convention for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage (hereinafter referred to as the 2003 Convention) is to be held in South Korea. Sponsored by the Cultural Heritage Administration (Director-General, Choi Eung-chun), the workshop will take place from February 26th to March 1st, for a duration of five days at the National Intangible Heritage Center located in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. Co-organized by UNESCO and International Information and Networking Centre For Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region Under the auspices of UNESCO (Director-General, Kim Ji-sung, hereinafter referred to as ICHCAP), the workshop is expected to have approximately 100 government officials and UNESCO representatives from 40 countries in the Asia-Pacific region..

Call for Articles: 2025 Living Heritage Series ‘Basketry’

 
#HeritageAlive, is a journal published every two years, with the support of ICHCAP, to promote NGOs’ experiences with the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (#HeritageAlive – ICH NGO Forum). So far, 4 editions in the Living Heritage Serie have been published successfully. In December 2023, during the 18.COM in Botswana-Kasane, the editorial board chose Traditional Basketry as the theme for the next publication. The estimation is for the next publication to be ready by the end of 2025 to be presented at the 20.COM.

MOU signed between ICHCAP & DMZ International ary Film Festival

 
The International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (Director-General Kim Jisung, hereafter “ICHCAP”) and the DMZ International ary Film Festival (Executive Committee Chairperson Jang Hae-rang, hereafter “DMZ Docs”) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on February 6 and pledged to make concerted efforts toward promoting the ary film industry and safeguarding intangible cultural heritage (ICH)..
