ICHCAP’s 2023 Work Plan Confirmed   The 2022 ICHCAP Governing Board Meeting was convened at the UNESCO House, Seoul, Republic of Korea on 11 November 2022. The meeting was attended by eight governing board members and Category 2 Centers from China and Japan to discuss different issues faced by ICHCAP, including 2023 projects and budget. Governing board members outside Korea joined the meeting online due to the COVID-19. The Secretariat reported the progress of 2022 programs and the key results of pending issues throughout the year, and then brought up to the governing board members the two agendas; reappointment of a governing board member, and work plan and budget for 2023 for their examination and approval. The agendas passed as drafted, and the board members positively evaluated the ICHCAP’s activities throughout the year, including promoting collaboration among partner institutions, contributing to the information-sharing among the Member States through ichLinks, and successful hosting of the ICH Youth Forum.   Read more New Publication Available! Resource Kit for Bringing Living Heritage to the Classroom in Asia-Pacific   ICHCAP has been operating project named “Bringing Living Heritage to the Classroom in the Asia-Pacific” in cooperation with the UNESCO Bangkok office and APCEIU to contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4. Quality Education. Since 2019, we developed step-by-step guidelines for integration of ICH in the formal education curriculum and held a training of trainers workshop for applying the guidelines to the actual education field. And, the pilot classes were conducted in six countries in the Asia-Pacific region(Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Thailand, and Republic of Korea). Approximately 1,900 students and 86 teachers participated in a total of 21 schools, and about 100 lesson plans were developed from the pilot classes.   Read more XR Training Program for Safeguarding Cultural Heritage   I CHCAP held the ‘2022 ASEAN-Korea XR Training Program’ in collaboration with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency and Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities. The training program, which was held from 28 November to 2 December at the ASEAN-Korea ICT Convergence Village in Busan, was attended by 19 people, including officials and researchers from the ICT, cultural heritage, and tourism sectors of four ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia) and Nepal. The training program is designed to draw up cooperative projects using eXtended Reality (XR) technology under the themes of cultural heritage and tourism.   Read more ICHCAP’s Side-Event Engagement in 17.COM   T he seventeenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage was held in Rabat, Morocco, from 28 November to 3 December. The first face-to-face meeting since the pandemic started about three years ago attracted more than 1,000 stakeholders from 130 countries, and more than 40 side events were held.
