#HeritageAlive welcomes essays with a concentration on either of these topics: woodcarving or traditional food. The chosen topic should be anchored on the following themes:
  • Gender
  • Sustainable development
  • Education
  • ICH and children

Accredited by UNESCO, #HeritageAlive is an online journal that gives credence to sharing and discussing ground experiences from the field. The journal favors articles written through a practical approach over the ones intended for an academic audience. The following are the frames for contribution:

  1. The articles approach is exchange of experiences from the field, when working with ICH.
  2. The articles should be 2,000 to 3,000 words, either in English or French.
  3. The article should be sent us as a text only. Pictures will have to be separately sent later.
  4. The author is responsible for copy-editing the article before submitting it to #HeritageAlive. An article with misspellings and grammatical errors will be returned to the author for revision.

All NGOs are invited to contribute. Questions or articles should be directed to Editor in Chief, Eivind Falk: eivind.falk@handverksinstituttet.no

#HeritageAlive welcomes articles until 1 September 2018. The articles will be discussed by the editorial board as we receive them, and the authors will be given feedback to make adjustments as needed.

According to the response, and in cooperation with ICHCAP, #HeritageAlive will publish books on one of the two topics-woodcarving and traditional food. The topic will be decided at the gathering of two organizations during the 13.COM, to be held from 26 November to 1 December 2018 in Port-Louis, Republic of Mauritius. The books will be published at the end of 2019, and be presented at the 14.COM.
