ICHCAP

As part of the Supporting ICH Digital Contents Creators project, filming onsite ICH experience video was successfully completed in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on 11 June. The filming of local content production was jointly planned and produced by ICHCAP and the YouTube Ryjoon channel, with help of the Kyrgyz National Commission for the UNESCO.

The creator, who has already introduced Kyrgyzstan's kokboru and traditional bread making jupka contents, experienced kalpak-making (Kyrgyz traditional hat) in person and captured it for the screen. Ms. Klara Asangulova, a kalpak-making master, led the entire time, not only by demonstrating how to make it but also by explaining the historical background and meaning of kalpak. The completed content will be uploaded to ICHCAP’s official YouTube channel on 1 July (Sat), at 2 p.m. (KST).

Through the content, you will be able to learn the sacred meaning of kalpak and enjoy the knowledge and skills that communities have accumulated from generation to generation. In the future, creators and ICHCAP will continue to present content of diverse living heritage and people's lives that can be experienced in the Asia-Pacific region.
