NIFFFI is an annual festival that showcases films based on or emerging from indigenous cultures and folklore from around the world.

The 2nd edition of the Nila International Folklore Film Festival of India (NIFFFI) will take place on October 29 to 31 and November 5 to 7.

We endeavour to bring to you slices of tradition, tales, arts and likeness from communities all across the world and to offer a platform to converse about the past, the present and the future. We look forward to having your participation and support.

NIFFFI '21 will offer an international selection of films that showcases our collective, often shared, ways of life. We are a platform for filmmakers who want to tell tales that connect our past to our time. Entries will compete for the flagship NIFFFI Black Fire Award for Best Long Film (30 mins and up) and a new Award for Best Short Film (under 30 mins).

We want NIFFFI to be welcoming and engaging for everyone. This year’s edition will follow a virtual format owing to the pandemic restrictions and the screenings will be held over two weekends, namely October 29 – 31 and November 7 – 9. Leading up to the festival weekends, a series of conversations with eminent personalities in the fields of cinema and culture is also being organised in order to focus attention on folklore and related topics. NIFFFI ’21 offers to be international in its content and composition and the organisers are busy at work to provide you with a memorable experience.
