ICHCAP

Organized by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (NRICH) and Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO), Heritage Korea is the only trade fair dedicated to cultural heritage and museums in Korea. To be held from 12 to 14 September at HICO in Gyeongju, it is hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) and Gyeongju City. Under the theme Heritage 4.0—New Business Platforms for Conservation, Management, and Utilization of Cultural Heritage, the trade fair will be attended by companies and experts related to cultural heritage conservation/management, digital heritage, and museums. ICHCAP is scheduled to participate in Heritage Korea 2018.

ICHCAP has been using digital technologies in our efforts to safeguard ICH in the Asia-Pacific region. Our participation in Heritage Korea is aimed at introducing ICHCAP’s related projects by displaying digitized audiovisual materials and publications as well as raising awareness of the importance and need to safeguard ICH and documentation among the public and cultural officials.

ICHCAP’s materials will be on display at the CHA booth with three themes, ICH Meets Google, ICH Video Production in the Asia-Pacific Region: Central Asia, and Support for Digitizing ICH Documents. Visitors can view ICHCAP’s Google cultural exhibition output and watch films on Central Asian ICH.

Heritage Korea 2018 will provide diverse programs as well as exhibitions. There will be business matching with buyers, new product presentations and cultural heritage job fair on the sidelines of the trade fair. In addition, a symposium on earthquake management for museums (hosted by Gyeongju National Museum) will be held simultaneously with Heritage Korea.
