Call for Papers: 2018 International Conference on Cultural Statistics and Creative Economy

The second International Conference on Cultural Statistics and Creative Economy will be held in Manila, Philippines, on second or third week of October. The conference is being organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to provide a venue for researchers, cultural workers, and academics to enrich and enliven discussions and propositions on the theme of the initiatives of Southeast Asian countries in their creative economies and their studies about statistical data on cultural studies.

Last year, NCCA has held the first Conference on Cultural Statistics and Creative Economy to highlight and enrich the work on Philippine cultural statistics and creative economy, as well as how this can be used for policy making. This year’s two-day conference will exhibit the initiatives of Southeast Asian countries through paper presentations of various topics and discussions. On the first day within the Southeast Asian context the conference will talk about cultural statistics frameworks and data collection methodologies on one of these domains: cultural and natural heritage, performance and celebration, visual arts and artisan Products. On the second day, the conference will be on Creativity and Economy, cultural/creative hubs, cultural tourism, game industry, DIY urbanism, creative economy of cities, etc.

NCCA is calling for abstract/paper-presentation submissions related to the above theme and topics of the conference. The organizer will provide transportation, accommodations, and meals for the selected presenters. By 15 May any interested individual should send a two- to three-page abstract and the author's/s' CV. All documents should be sent as .pdf files to culturalstatistics.ncca@gmail.com with the subject heading SUBMISSION TO THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL STATISTICS AND CREATIVE ECONOMY.

The abstract submission package should include:
  • Paper Title
  • Author/s
  • Organization/Affiliation
  • Mailing address
  • E-mail address

If abstracts are accepted, a 10- to 15-page final paper should be submitted for the final selection process by 15 August.
