Sahapedia, an open online resource on Indian arts, in partnership with UNESCO, has launched a fellowship program that provides an opportunity for young people to expand their knowledge on India’s rich cultural heritage. Applications close on 15 July 2017 for 100 available fellowships (80 SRF and 20 SPF) for the same year of application.

The Sahapedia-UNESCO Fellowships are available to post-doctoral scholars, doctoral candidates, post-graduates, and graduates (including those students due to graduate in the summer of 2017). Fellows will be encouraged to carry out documentation and critical research in diverse areas of cultural knowledge while interacting with and enhancing networks that contribute to the creation of such cultural knowledge. The research output of the Fellows will be published on Sahapedia web portal as their online resource contribution.

Two applications types are available—the Sahapedia Project Fellowship (SPF) and the Sahapedia Research Fellowship (SRF)—to give applicants the option to participate either at the level of primary documentation or in content curation processes.

Applicants selected as Sahapedia Project Fellows will be granted a financial subsidy of Rs. 40,000 while those selected as Sahapedia Research Fellows will receive a grant of Rs. 15,000. SPF project is expected to be completed in twelve weeks and the SRF assignment in eight weeks.

More details about the program, eligibility, and application process are available on the fellowship website.
