Rediscovering the Korean Royal Culture, the 3rd Royal Culture Festival

The event begins on 28 April with an opening ceremony, “Today, Meet the Palace,” at Heungyemun Gate Square of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Throughout the ten-day festival, the public will have an opportunity to learn about multifaceted palatial cultures through reenactments, exhibitions, plays, and experience activities. For instance, the Declaration of the Korean Empire as well as the King Yeongjo and Changgyeonggung Palace reenactments are scheduled as are A Taste of Royal Cuisine and The Royal Medicine, which presents oriental medical practices. Additionally,Intangible Cultural Heritage Performance, Changgyeonggung Outdoor Historical Drama, Gyeonghoeru Pavilion Nighttime Concert, Hanbok Photo Exhibition, Royal Poet Exhibition, and other special programs will be offered for the public to enjoy the sights of royal palaces.
The numerous programs at the venues will allow people to appreciate the unique history and stories of Chosun palaces that have been preserved for the last 600 years. Pre-registration is required for some of the programs. For more information about the festival, please visit its official homepage.
