Webinar : Bringing Living Heritage to the Classroom in East Asia

ICHCAP is co-organizing a webinar in East Asia on August 10 (Thursday) under the theme of "Bringing Living Heritage to the Classroom in East Asia" in collaboration with the UNESCO Beijing Office.

ICHCAP has been working on the project on ICH and Education as a mean of safeguarding measure for intangible cultural heritage in formal and non-formal education since 2019, recognizing the importance of education to protect intangible heritage.

In 2022, a resource kit on teaching and learning with living heritage for teachers in the Asia-Pacific region was published in cooperation with the UNESCO Bangkok Office and APCEIU, and online open courses also have been developed and serviced for teachers to guide how to integrate living heritage in their lessons and extracurricular activities in the schools.

This webinar will introduce new teaching methodologies using living heritage to teachers in East Asia and provide guidances to prepare new lesson plans for their classes.

Interpretation services will be provided in four languages (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Mongolian) in East Asian countries, and anyone who are interested in intangible cultural heritage and education can participate.
