ICHCAP held the “Interim Report Session on Developing the First Phase of the Asia Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Information Sharing Platform System” on 27 November at the center’s conference room.

This session, held for the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of the business by checking the status of the platform development project, was conducted by presentations and a Q&A session. The contents of the presentations were 1) the overview of the platform development project and report on the system/content design and 2) an on-screen demonstration of the system under development.

After the presentation, participants discussed the direction of the system to make the platform secure open and expandable and to serve as a venue for sharing intangible cultural heritage information in the Asia-Pacific region. The discussion were mainly on making 1) a plan to develop archive management functions in consideration of the convenience and needs of the users, 2) a plan to optimize the system considering the informatized infrastructure of the Asia-Pacific region, 3) the development and dissemination of planned contents. Meaningful thoughts were exchanged between the center and the implementing company through the sessions.

Gi-Hyung Keum, Director-General of ICHCAP, encouraged the implementing company to keep up with completing the first phase of the platform system development project by collaborating with the center's project team.

Through this project, ICHCAP aims to launch an information sharing platform (ichLinks) in March next year as a one-stop site to conveniently search and use ICH contents in the Asia Pacific region.
