Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) shapes contemporary life in many ways. Videos on how that happens in four Central Asian countries and Mongolia will be aired on TV. ICHCAP and Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) have signed a distribution agreement on fifty videos and three documentaries on Central Asian ICH for global distribution and broadcasting of the contents.

ICHCAP produced  fifty videos on ICH jointly with four Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan) and Mongolia from 2015 to 2016, and the three documentaries, Great Legacies of Central Asia in Motion ICH, were produced by EBS and Asia Culture Center (ACC) as part of a project for safeguarding ICH through video documentation. The documentaries were already aired in Korea in October 2017.

While some of the videos on Central Asian ICH were screened in Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea in Jeonju and Jeju, they have not been introduced on Korean TV. You can visit ICHCAP’s website to check the entire list of the videos and watch the clips.

ICHCAP and EBS expect that the contents will be valuable material not just for the public but for researchers, students, and ICH experts. The contents are publicly accessible through ICHCAP's e-Knowledge Center and will also be showcased at a premiere. For any inquiries about the screening, please contact ICHCAP.
